Mrs. Pauline Nellie Dumais
Pauline Dumais passed on Sunday, August 7, 2022 surrounded by her family and cat, Tinky. Pauline is survived by her four children and their spouses: Phil and Charlene, Dave and Mark, Paula and Willie, and Steve and Sue. Pauline loved her four grandchildren: Jenny, Bill, Staci and Paul; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Kassie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and parents William and Georgia Nelson. A transplant to Lexington, Kentucky in 1972, Pauline could often be seen throughout the years walking in Fayette Mall, her favorite place to exercise. Pauline will be remembered for her creativity and knack for sewing, her love of Christmas and ice skating, and her unconditional love toward family. She never hesitated to sew a dress for her daughter or a Halloween costume for her grandkids. Days with Grandma included trips to the bookstore, breakfast with good coffee, and adventures to Disney on Ice. After a sleepover, it was tradition to share hot cocoa and toast. Pauline colored with us, crafted with us, talked with us, and supported us through all of life’s big decisions. Pauline taught us how to slow down to appreciate the bee on the flower, the swan gliding through the water, and the baby bird on the feeder. She taught us to listen intently and soak in every precious moment with those you love. Pauline radiated love, comfort, and peace, qualities she instilled in all of us throughout 94 wonderful years. The memories will never fade, we are forever grateful for her love and life. A private service will be held with the family.
