Cora Ann Moynahan

Cora Ann Moynahan, 94, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away June 28, 2022 at Sayre Christian Village. She was a native of Lexington, and the daughter of George and Thelma Hilen. She was one of fifteen children, all who preceded her in death. At sixteen years of age she married the love of her life, Michael J Moynahan Sr., who preceded her in death in 1994. They had many wonderful years together. She had one son, Michael J Moynahan Jr, who also preceded her in death in 2016. She leaves behind two daughters, Penny (Bob) Browning of Georgetown, KY and Teresa (Jerry) Page of Leesburg, FL; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Moynahan of Lexington; six grandchildren, Stacy (Bill) Serad, Amy (James) Alford, Susan (Rusty) Fitzpatrick, Sherri (Mike) Jones, Kelly (Kimberly) Moynahan, and Amber (Joseph) Overhults, 13 great-grandchildren, several sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Cora was employed by Sears for 10 years and retired from McAlpin’s Department Store after 30 years where she was an expert in custom draperies and design. She loved her family and often spoke of missing her brothers and sisters, as well as her close friends at Central Baptist Church where she was a long-time member, serving the Lord in many different capacities. She was a proud member of the “Cream of the Crop” Sunday School class, which she dearly loved. Services will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Main Street by Rusty Fitzpatrick and Mike Jones. Pallbearers will be Kelly Moynahan, Joseph Overhults, Mike Jones, Rusty Fitzpatrick, Clay Fitzpatrick, Bill Serad, and Will Serad. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sayre Christian Village or Salvation Army. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7pm at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street. Funeral will be 10am Saturday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street with graveside at Lexington Cemetery to follow.
