Robert "Bob" Stewart

STEWART, Robert “Bob”, 88, passed on Sunday, June 26, when his spirit went to join our Lord and Savior. He was born June 25, 1934 in Perryville, KY. Bob is survived by his wife of 66 happy years, Virginia “Ginny”; three faithful sons, Dale, David Lee and Alan (Theresa); seven precious grandchildren, Lauren Wright, Hannah Stewart, Christina (Ben) Stone, Madison Stewart, Justin (Autumn) Stewart, Spencer Stewart and Parker Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Stone, Landon Wright and Grant Wright; with an honorable mention of Suzanne Stewart and Claudia Bird. Bob served as an active member of Rosemont Baptist Church for 59 years being a Sunday School Teacher, Stewardship Committee for several years, Deacon for 50+ years and is presently Deacon Emeritus. Bob served for 35 years of outstanding leadership with the Boy Scouts of America. He completed classes at UK College of Engineering and retired from IBM. After retirement, Bob enjoyed several hobbies including: Lexington Model Airplane Club and Bob’s Woodworking. Bob served in the armed forces for 10 years and is honored to be laid to rest at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. A 12:30pm Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Rosemont Baptist Church, 556 Rosemont Garden, Lexington, KY 40503 with Pastor Eddie Benton officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home- Harrodsburg Rd and 11:30am Thursday until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Rosemont Baptist Church.
