Alfred E. McGregor
Funeral Time: Saturday, October 16th at 10:00AM
Alfred McGregor, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on October 1, 2021. He was born in Lexington, KY April 14, 1935 to the late Harold and Zola McGregor. He attended Layfette High School and graduated Henry Clay High School & the University of Kentucky. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and met his dear departed wife Martha Lair at UK. He proudly served in the Navy primarily on the USS Saratoga. His brother Malcolm and sister Millie preceded him in death.

Al was an accomplished builder, long term care administrator, teacher, realtor and property manager. He built and operated Rose Manor Nursing Home for 55 years. He was a past president of the Kentucky Home Builders Association.

He greatly enjoyed his many friends and was amazing at remembering and celebrating all of the people he had met during his incredible life. He also loved music, singing, basketball, and tennis. He was always someone you wanted around.

Alfred is survived by his children Deborah Addessi (Jim), Al McGregor Jr (Naomi), Robert McGregor, and Jeff McGregor (Jennifer), grandchildren Drew Addessi, Dylan Addessi, Kenny McGregor, Alyssa McGregor, Linden McGregor, Hannah McGregor, Coral McGregor, and special nephew Greg Lopez.

Alfred was a kind and special person who was loved by all who knew him and will be missed dearly. Visitation will be held at 5 – 8 pm Friday October 15th at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road. Funeral Service will be held Saturday October 16th at 10am at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home 3421 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY with procession to follow for graveside services at Hillcrest Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held after his services on Saturday at Spindletop Hall from 4 – 7 pm.
