Kay Marlene Eades

Eades, Kay Marlene, 83, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at her home on June 25, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born Kay Marlene Parker on April 28, 1937 in Raton, New Mexico, to Carol Lucille and Merl Ophal Parker. She grew up in a pioneer family in southern Colorado later, moving to a dairy ranch in central Colorado. She attended Miami-Yoder High School in El Paso County Colorado where she excelled in her studies, basketball and 4H. After traveling with a friend to Lexington Kentucky, she met and married Donald F. Stamm and together they had six children. Steven Eric, Donna Kay, Thomas David, David Wade, Timothy Wayne, and Frank Edward Stamm. After the death of her husband Donald (1993) she married George Stanley Eades (1997).
Kay was an exceptional cook and seamstress. She was a resourceful wife and mother with a strong faith which she strove to imprint on her children and on all who would listen. She was always devoted to her family and to neighbors and friends.
Kay was preceded in death by her first husband Donald F. Stamm, her parents Merl and Carol Parker, her brother Karl O. Parker, and sons Thomas and David Stamm.
She is survived by her second husband, Stanley; sister, Karen Walker of Colorado Springs, CO; half-sister Betty Kean of Westfield, Massachusetts, Four children, Steve (Cheryl) of Tennessee, Donna (Terry) of Lexington, Kentucky, Tim (Lisa) of Tennessee, and Frank of Delaware, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home 3421 Harrodsburg Rd Lexington, KY 40513. Visitation will be from 4:30-7PM Wednesday July 1, 2020 at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
