FALKENBURG, Charles W., 75, husband of Kimetha S. Falkenburg, died Nov. 4, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born Sept. 14, 1943 in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late William Russell and Irene Olds Falkenburg. Mr. Falkenburg was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Corpsman and served with the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America. He was a retired sales rep for Key Industry, a member of Anchor Baptist Church, the American Legion, and Gideonís International. Survivors other than his wife include three children, Christopher Raven, Russell Falkenburg (Elizabeth), and Gretchen Falkenburg (David Thornton); five grandchildren, Kailyn, Tyler, Aaron, Avery, Kieran Luke; one brother, Bill (Rebecca); one sister, Camille; and extended family member Debbie Falkenburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnne. Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Fri., Nov. 9, at Anchor Baptist Church, 3601 Winthrop Drive, Lexington, KY 40514 by Dr. Carl M. Peters II. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 am Fri. until the service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Anchor Baptist Church Stewardship Campaign. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. is in charge of arrangements.
